Summary
Nevada Medicaid updated the eligibility checklist for Specialized Foster Care (Provider Type 86) for youth aged 18-19. Recipients must now meet both a severely emotionally disturbed/serious mental illness determination AND have a LOCUS/CASII/ECSII score of Level 1 or higher under the Impaired Functioning & Service Intensity criteria.

By July 1, 2025: Provider Type 86 (Specialized Foster Care) providers must review the updated Needs-Based Eligibility Checklist on the Nevada Medicaid Provider website Billing Information page. Ensure documentation includes both SED/SMI determination and LOCUS/CASII/ECSII Level 1+ scores for youth aged 18-19 in specialized foster care to maintain eligibility.
