Summary
OneTouch® blood glucose meters and test strips are being removed from the preferred product list effective 9/15/2025, replaced by Accu-Chek® products, while True Metrix® products remain preferred. Patients currently using OneTouch® products can receive one transition fill (up to one month supply) from 9/15/2025 to 12/31/2025.
Action Required
By September 15, 2025: Billing team must update prior authorization and coverage verification processes to reflect OneTouch® products are no longer preferred - verify coverage for Accu-Chek® or True Metrix® alternatives instead. Update patient education materials and notify diabetic patients about the change. Between 9/15/2025-12/31/2025, document transition fills for OneTouch® strips as one-time only.
