Summary
Effective January 5, 2026, Nevada Medicaid requires long-acting inhalers to be dispensed as 84-100 day supplies as part of the Maintenance Medication program. A one-time initial fill of less than three months is allowed for the first prescription to ensure patient tolerability.
Action Required
By January 5, 2026: Billing team must update systems to ensure long-acting inhaler prescriptions for Nevada Medicaid patients are processed as 84-100 day supplies under the Maintenance Medication program. Providers should be notified that initial fills can be shorter for tolerability testing. Review section 4.3.1 of Nevada Medicaid Pharmacy Manual for complete requirements.
