Summary
AHCCCS Fee-for-Service has implemented a new requirement effective February 17, 2023, where Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinics (Provider Type 77) and Integrated Clinics (Provider Type IC) must submit separate claim lines for each date of service with no date spans exceeding one day. Additionally, Medical Transportation Management (MTM) has taken over coordination of medically necessary lodging and meal services as of February 1, 2023.
Action Required
Immediately: Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinics (Provider Type 77) and Integrated Clinics (Provider Type IC) must update billing practices to submit one claim line per date of service with no date spans greater than one day. Update billing software to prevent claim line submissions spanning multiple days as these will be automatically denied by AHCCCS DFSM. For travel services, coordinate lodging and meal reimbursement requests through new vendor MTM while continuing to obtain prior authorization from AHCCCS UM department.
