Summary
Nevada Medicaid has fixed an error where hospice long-term care claims (Provider Type 65) were incorrectly denying when Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) were listed as the nursing facility. ICF/IIDs are now accepted as valid nursing facilities on these claims, and previously denied claims will be automatically reprocessed.
Action Required
No immediate action required: Nevada Medicaid will automatically reprocess previously denied Provider Type 65 hospice claims with dates of service from January 1, 2025 onward that were denied with error code 1030 when an ICF/IID NPI was used. Billing team should review future remittance advices for reprocessed claim results and be aware that ICF/IID NPIs are now acceptable as nursing facility identifiers on hospice long-term care claims.
