Summary
Kansas Medicaid will charge a $709 application fee for new provider applications, re-enrollments, and reactivations effective January 1, 2024. Individual providers, Medicare-enrolled providers, and certain provider types are exempt from this fee.
Action Required
For any Kansas Medicaid applications submitted after January 1, 2024: Billing team and credentialing staff must include $709 application fee (check or money order to State of Kansas - Medicaid) for applicable provider types. Verify Medicare enrollment through PECOS to claim exemption. Individual providers and non-physician practitioners are exempt. Applications without proper payment will be returned.
