Summary
Kansas Medicaid (KMAP) is implementing a full audit process for Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) providers in 2024, expanding from the limited audits conducted 2020-2023. Averifi will conduct annual remote audits of provider qualifications, staff credentials, and compliance documentation for all HCBS providers enrolled with Managed Care Organizations.
Action Required
By Q1 2024: HCBS providers must prepare comprehensive staff lists including all active, temporary, variable, paid, unpaid, and volunteer staff for annual Averifi audits. Ensure all staff background checks, CDDO affiliation agreements, and CMHC licenses are current and accessible. Respond promptly to Averifi audit initiation emails to avoid compliance issues with MCO networks.
