Effective February 1, 2024, Kansas Medicaid (KMAP) now allows nursing facilities and intermediate care facilities to bill for private rooms. Facilities can provide private rooms if medically necessary or at their discretion, with families able to pay the difference for non-medically necessary private rooms.
