Summary
Kansas Medicaid (KMAP) is moving injectable triamcinolone acetonide codes from pharmacy benefit to medical benefit coverage effective April 1, 2024. HCPCS codes J3299, J3300, J3301, and J3304 will now be covered under medical benefits only, while J3302 coverage is completely discontinued.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must update system to bill HCPCS codes J3299, J3300, J3301, and J3304 under medical benefit instead of pharmacy benefit for Kansas Medicaid patients. Stop billing J3302 entirely as coverage is discontinued. Verify KanCare MCO implementation status on KMAP Bulletins page before submitting claims.
