Summary
Effective August 1, 2024, all Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) and Frail Elderly (FE) telemonitoring installation claims must be submitted using code S0315 with modifier U1 appended. All other coverage criteria and prior authorization requirements remain unchanged.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must update billing system to automatically append modifier U1 to all S0315 claims for HCBS/FE telemonitoring installations. Update encounter forms and billing templates to reflect S0315-U1 as the required code combination. Verify that staff submitting these claims are aware of the modifier requirement to prevent claim denials.
