Kansas Medicaid (KMAP) has expanded the list of provider types who can bill for Community Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) services using codes H2017, H2017TJ, and H2017HQ. The expansion includes nurse practitioners, physician assistants, licensed mental health professionals, psychologists, and physicians across multiple specialties who are enrolled in KMAP.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing teams for eligible provider types (nurse practitioners, physician assistants, mental health professionals, family practitioners, general practitioners, psychiatrists, and addiction medicine physicians) must verify KMAP enrollment status and update billing systems to allow PSR code billing. Review contracts with KanCare MCOs and ensure completion of required training approved by Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services. Update encounter forms to include H2017, H2017TJ, and H2017HQ codes for appropriate providers.
