Summary
Kansas Medicaid (KMAP) expanded the list of provider types who can bill Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment (CPST) codes H0036-HA and H0036-HB, effective July 1, 2024. This allows additional mental health professionals, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and physicians in specific specialties to render and bill these services.
Action Required
By July 1, 2024 (already effective): Mental health providers and billing teams must verify their provider type/specialty codes are enrolled in KMAP for billing H0036-HA and H0036-HB. Ensure providers complete required KDADS-approved CPST training and review KanCare MCO contracts. Update billing system to allow newly eligible provider types to bill these codes.
