Summary

Effective May 18, 2023, AHCCCS has restricted providers' ability to submit claims on behalf of other providers through their online system. Providers can now only bill for affiliated providers that appear in an approved drop-down list, and must create separate AHCCCS Online accounts for non-affiliated providers they wish to bill for.

Immediately: Billing team must verify all providers they bill for appear in the AHCCCS Online affiliated providers drop-down list. If any providers are missing from the list, create new AHCCCS Online accounts for each non-affiliated provider (only AHCCCS-registered providers can create accounts). Update billing workflows to check provider affiliation status before claim submission. Claims submitted for non-affiliated providers will be rejected by the system.
