By January 1, 2025: HCBS providers in Kansas should review updated adverse incident definitions in Section 8000 of HCBS provider manuals and ensure staff understand the new criteria for reporting elopement incidents (must have documented safety concerns) and emergency medical care (can include any accessible medical facility, not just hospitals). Update internal incident reporting procedures accordingly.
