Summary
Effective January 1, 2025, telephone evaluation and management codes 99441, 99442, and 99443 will be discontinued from the Kansas Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) program and removed as PPS trigger codes. These codes remain valid for dates of service prior to January 1, 2025.
Action Required
Before January 1, 2025: Billing teams for CCBHC providers in Kansas must update billing systems to discontinue use of CPT codes 99441, 99442, and 99443 for dates of service on or after January 1, 2025. Update encounter forms and provider documentation to reflect these codes are no longer valid PPS trigger codes. Verify KanCare MCO implementation status via the Open Claims Resolution Log before processing claims.
