Summary
Starting June 1, 2025, MediKan will no longer cover ambulance transport codes A0225, A0420, A0426, and A0428. Other ambulance codes (A0425, A0427, A0429, A0430, A0431, A0433, A0434, A0435, A0436) remain covered under existing policy provisions.
Action Required
Before June 1, 2025: Billing team must update system to deny/flag ambulance codes A0225, A0420, A0426, and A0428 for MediKan members. Update fee schedules and reference the revised Ambulance Fee-for-Service Manual page 8-2. Verify A0425, A0427, A0429, A0430, A0431, A0433, A0434, A0435, and A0436 remain billable with existing requirements.
