KMAP has updated its Preferred Drug List effective June 1, 2025. Gabarone (gabapentin) becomes non-preferred, Wegovy (semaglutide) becomes preferred, and Gelnique (oxybutynin) and Qdolo (tramadol) are removed from the preferred list entirely.

Before June 1, 2025: Billing team must update prior authorization requirements in billing system for affected medications. Update providers that Gabarone (gabapentin) will require prior auth as non-preferred drug, Gelnique (oxybutynin) and Qdolo (tramadol) will need prior authorization or alternative preferred drugs. Monitor KanCare MCO implementation dates as they may vary from state policy date.
