Summary
Kansas Medicaid (KMAP) now restricts CPT codes 99366, 99367, and 99368 (medical team conferences) to only Community Mental Health Centers and Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics. All other provider types will have claims denied for these codes. This restriction is retroactive to May 1, 2022.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must stop submitting CPT codes 99366, 99367, and 99368 for Kansas Medicaid patients unless your practice is a Community Mental Health Center or Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic. Remove these codes from encounter forms and billing system templates for Medicaid patients. Review and resubmit any denied claims from May 1, 2022 forward that used these codes inappropriately.
