Summary
KMAP corrected a system error that caused claims with third-party liability (TPL) to be incorrectly denied for balancing issues between April 2022 and July 2025. Providers now have 30 days to resubmit affected claims that were previously denied in error.
Action Required
By October 17, 2025: Billing team must identify all Kansas Medicaid claims with TPL that were denied with Edit 2040/EOB 9943 between April 4, 2022 and July 10, 2025. Resubmit these claims or contact KMAP Customer Service at 1-800-933-6593 with reference number INC0053769/CHG0035306 to request system adjustment. Failure to act within 30 days will result in permanent loss of reimbursement for affected claims.
