Summary
Starting January 1, 2026, Kansas Medicaid will allow use of DC:0-5 diagnostic classification for mental health assessments in children birth to 5 years old, with new billing codes 96112 ($88.74) and 96113 ($40.49). Clinicians are encouraged to complete ZERO-TO-THREE training approved by KDADS and KDHE.
Action Required
Before January 1, 2026: Billing team must add CPT codes 96112 and 96113 to fee schedules with rates $88.74 and $40.49 respectively for Kansas Medicaid. Update encounter forms for pediatric mental health providers. Encourage clinicians who assess children 0-5 years for behavioral health to complete ZERO-TO-THREE training through KDADS/KDHE.
