Summary
AHCCCS implements mandatory ID.me identity verification for provider portal access starting January 4, 2024, and requires Behavioral Health Residential Facilities (provider type B8) to use Place of Service code 56 for psychiatric residential treatment services with HCPCS code H0018 effective December 1, 2023. The policy also mandates new ADA 2024 dental claim forms beginning January 1, 2024.
Action Required
Immediately: All staff accessing AHCCCS Online portal must register for ID.me identity verification by January 4, 2024. Billing team must update systems to use Place of Service code 56 (not other POS codes) for all Behavioral Health Residential Facility claims with HCPCS H0018 for dates of service December 1, 2023 and after. Dental billing staff must switch to ADA 2024 dental claim forms starting January 1, 2024 - the old ADA 2012 forms will no longer be accepted. Claims using incorrect POS codes or outdated forms will be denied.
