Summary
Kansas Medicaid will no longer cover the combined MMRV vaccine (90710) for children under 4 years old, effective retroactively to September 20, 2025. Providers must bill separately using MMR vaccine (90707) and Varicella vaccine (90716) codes instead for this age group.
Action Required
Before September 20, 2025: Billing team must update system to restrict code 90710 for Kansas Medicaid patients under 4 years old. Use codes 90707 (MMR) and 90716 (Varicella) separately instead. Update encounter forms and train providers on separate vaccine administration for this age group. Claims for 90710 in under-4 patients will be denied.
