Summary
Starting January 1, 2026, providers can request expedited prior authorization reviews for urgent cases where standard timeframes could jeopardize patient health. Expedited requests must be submitted via a new dedicated email address to KSExpeditedPriorAuthorizationRequest@gainwelltechnologies.com.
Action Required
Before January 1, 2026: Train prior authorization staff on new expedited review process. Add KSExpeditedPriorAuthorizationRequest@gainwelltechnologies.com to contact database. Create workflow to identify cases where standard PA timeframes could jeopardize patient life, health, or function. Update PA request procedures to include expedited option for qualifying cases.
