Summary
Alaska Medicaid has announced multiple billing and administrative changes including a new 30-day application cancellation policy effective 9/30/2024, updated Third Party Liability processing requirements, and new telephonic Fair Hearing appeals starting 10/1/2024. Claims with TPL attachments are now processed within 15 days, and providers have 14 days to submit supporting documentation for electronic claims.
Action Required
By September 30, 2024: Ensure all new provider enrollment applications are complete with all required documents submitted at time of application to avoid 30-day cancellation policy. For TPL claims: Submit EOBs and attachments via fax or DSM within 14 days of electronic claim submission to avoid denial on day 15. Update fair hearing procedures to include new telephonic option at (907) 644-6800 starting October 1, 2024. Verify contact information in provider files is current to receive revalidation notices.
