Summary
New Mexico has introduced 'AVA the Baby Bot', an electronic system that allows certified Presumptive Eligibility Determiners to automatically add newborns to their mother's active Medicaid case through YESNM-PE. This replaces the manual MAD 313 Notification of Birth form process for most situations, requiring staff to become certified PEDs to use the new system.
Action Required
Immediately: Staff who currently submit MAD 313 Notification of Birth forms must email HSD.PEDeterminers@state.nm.us to request PED certification training. Complete the two-day virtual training offered monthly and pass the comprehension test with 90% or higher score. Once certified, use AVA the Baby Bot through YESNM-PE to electronically add newborns to mother's Medicaid cases instead of manual MAD 313 forms. Only use manual fax process (1-855-804-8960) when internet is unavailable.
