Summary
Utah Medicaid will transition to a new PRISM system in April 2023, with critical system downtime from March 13 - April 2, 2023. Paper claims will no longer be accepted after February 23, 2023, electronic claims must be submitted by March 8, 2023 at 5pm MST, and provider payments will be suspended during the freeze period.
Action Required
By February 5, 2023: Complete opt-in form for interim payments if needed. By February 22, 2023: Submit all fax/documentation items. By February 23, 2023: Stop all paper claim submissions - they will be destroyed. By March 8, 2023 at 5pm MST: Submit all electronic claims. Before March 13, 2023: Request prior authorizations for services scheduled during freeze period. During March 13 - April 2, 2023: No system access, no payments, maintain documentation for medical necessity. Failure to submit claims by deadlines will result in timely filing denials with no exceptions.
