Summary
Illinois Medicaid is transitioning from local condition codes A7, A8, and 96 to new national NUBC condition codes AA, AB, AD, and AE for abortion procedures on UB-92 claims. The old codes will no longer be accepted after October 15, 2003.
Action Required
By October 15, 2003: Billing team must update UB-92 claim forms to use new condition codes AA (rape), AB (incest), AD (life-endangering condition), and AE (physical health of mother) in Form Locators 24-30. Remove old condition codes A7, A8, and 96 from billing system. Claims submitted with old codes after this date will be rejected.
