Summary
Illinois Department of Health changed how DSH and MPA payments are processed for Medicaid MCO enrollees. Starting August 1, 2003 for DSH and October 1, 2003 for MPA, the state pays these adjustments directly to eligible hospitals instead of MCOs making the payments.
Action Required
Illinois hospitals only: Verify your facility receives DSH payments directly from the state department (effective since August 1, 2003) and MPA payments (effective since October 1, 2003) for Medicaid MCO enrollee encounters.
