Summary
The Illinois Department of Public Aid is changing its name to Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) effective July 1, 2005, and updating the SASS Handbook for Community Mental Health Services with new acuity screening tools and CSPI frequency updates.
Action Required
By July 1, 2005: Community Mental Health providers must update handbook pages per instructions, replacing December 2004 pages with June 2005 versions. Download updated pages from new HFS website at http://www.hfs.illinois.gov/handbooks/ or request paper copies. Update contact information and bookmarks to reflect department name change from DPA to HFS.
