Summary
Effective August 1, 2005, Medicaid will no longer approve refill-too-soon overrides for clients in long-term care facilities who temporarily leave for hospital stays and return to the same facility. LTC facilities must retain unused medications in secure storage for returning clients instead of requesting new refill overrides.
