Action Required

Action needed
By May 23, 2007: All providers must obtain an NPI from CMS at http://www.cms.hhs.gov/NationalProvIdentStand/. Request separate NPIs for each existing HFS provider number and for each designated payee. Include all legacy identifiers when applying. Report NPIs to HFS through their Web Based Application before billing with the NPI. Failure to obtain and use NPIs will result in claim denials and processing delays.
