Summary
Starting July 1, 2006, Illinois Medicaid changed non-emergency transportation billing to pay mileage from mile one (instead of after 10 miles) and allows employee attendants for service cars and taxicabs using procedure code T2001.
Action Required
This is a historical policy from 2006 that should already be implemented. If providing non-emergency transportation services in Illinois: Verify billing system uses procedure code T2001 for both employee and non-employee attendants, and ensures mileage reimbursement starts from mile one for medicar and service car transportation.
