Summary

DHS will now pay for physician psychiatric services for children and adolescents enrolled in the SASS program who are not enrolled in Medicaid/All Kids, effective for dates of service July 1, 2005 and after. These services must be billed fee-for-service directly by physicians to the Department of Healthcare and Family Services, not by Community Mental Health providers.

By September 30, 2006: Physicians providing psychiatric services to SASS-enrolled children/adolescents (non-Medicaid) must bill fee-for-service using DPA 2360 form or 837P to Department of Healthcare and Family Services. Community Mental Health providers must stop billing for these services immediately. Claims past 12-month filing requirement can be submitted electronically or by paper to Bureau of Comprehensive Health Services, ATTN: Jodie Edmonds, 201 South Grand Avenue East, Springfield, IL 62763-0002.
