Summary
Illinois expanded Medicaid coverage under the All Kids program with new cost-sharing requirements for children in Premium Levels 2-8 based on family income. Providers must verify eligibility to determine correct co-payment amounts and cannot bill patients more than the state's reimbursement amount.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must verify All Kids eligibility using MEDI system at www.myhfs.illinois.gov or call 1-800-842-1461 to determine co-payment levels. Bill usual and customary charges without deducting co-payments - the state will automatically deduct from reimbursement. If collecting co-payments from patients, ensure amount does not exceed state reimbursement shown on Remittance Advice with code I05. Refund patients any overpayment immediately.
