Summary
Illinois launched All Kids and Veterans Care programs expanding healthcare coverage to children regardless of income/immigration status and veterans statewide. All Kids participants get canary yellow ID cards and Veterans Care participants get HFS MediPlan cards with 'Veterans Care' printed on front and office code '196'.
Action Required
Immediately: Train front desk staff to recognize All Kids canary yellow ID cards and Veterans Care HFS MediPlan cards with office code '196'. Update patient registration system to properly identify these new coverage types. Submit claims for Veterans Care participants using same process as SASS claims. Review cost-sharing requirements in Chapter 100 Handbook Appendices 13-14 for proper copayment collection.
