Action Required

Action needed
Before May 23, 2007: All providers must obtain NPIs from CMS and report them to Illinois HFS using one of three methods: MEDI/IEC online system (administrators only), paper NPI enrollment packet by calling (217) 782-0538, or web-based application. Billing team must update all claim submission processes to include NPIs instead of legacy provider numbers. Verify NPI information when receiving verification letters from the department. Claims submitted without correct NPIs after May 23, 2007 will be rejected and require resubmission.
