Summary
Starting October 1, 2007, prior approval is required for all non-emergency transportation services for long-term care residents. LTC facilities and transportation providers must obtain approval through First Transit's NETSPAP program before providing covered transportation services.
Action Required
Before September 17, 2007: LTC facilities and transportation providers must register with First Transit's NETSPAP program at 1-866-503-9040. Starting September 17, 2007: Begin submitting prior approval requests for all non-emergency transportation for LTC residents with service dates on or after October 1, 2007. Attend mandatory NETSPAP training sessions when scheduled by First Transit. Update billing workflows to verify prior approval before providing transportation services - claims will not be reimbursed without prior approval.
