Summary
This policy clarifies billing procedures for psychiatric services provided to children and adolescents enrolled in Illinois' SASS program who are not enrolled in Medicaid/All Kids. Physicians must bill these services fee-for-service to the Department of Healthcare and Family Services, and community mental health providers cannot bill for these services.
Action Required
By December 30, 2007: Physicians providing psychiatric services to SASS-enrolled children/adolescents not on Medicaid must bill fee-for-service using DPA 2360 forms or 837P claims to the Department of Healthcare and Family Services. Community mental health providers must stop billing for these services. Claims past the 12-month filing requirement should be sent to Bureau of Comprehensive Health Services at the specified Springfield, Illinois address.
