Summary
Effective July 1, 2008, enrolled therapists can now bill and receive reimbursement for services rendered by licensed therapy assistants under their supervision. The Handbook for Providers of Therapy Services has been updated to reflect these billing changes.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team should download the updated Handbook for Providers of Therapy Services, Chapter J-200 from the Illinois HFS website or request a paper copy. Update billing procedures to allow reimbursement claims for services provided by licensed therapy assistants under enrolled therapist supervision. Replace handbook pages J-202(1) and J-203(1) with the August 2008 versions.
