Summary
Effective June 1, 2009, pharmacies providing durable medical equipment must bill specific supplies through the pharmacy system using eleven-digit NDC codes instead of through the DME claims processing system. Claims submitted through the DME system for these supplies will be rejected with message 'D80 - Item has NDC/Rebill pharmacy claims system.'
Action Required
By June 1, 2009: Pharmacies enrolled to provide DME supplies must switch to billing specified medical supplies through the pharmacy system using eleven-digit NDC codes. Review the attached supply listing to identify affected items. Update billing procedures to route these supplies through pharmacy claims system instead of DME system. Failure to make this change will result in claim rejections.
