Summary
The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services is phasing out mailing paper notices and bulletins to providers, transitioning to web-based delivery with email notifications. Certain provider types including hospitals, pharmacies, and surgical centers will stop receiving paper notices starting February 1, 2010, with additional provider types phased in throughout 2010.
Action Required
Before February 1, 2010: If your practice is a Local Education Agency, Durable Medical Equipment provider, Ambulatory Surgical Treatment Center, Long Term Care facility, Supportive Living Facility, Hospice, Hospital, or Pharmacy - immediately register for email notifications at http://www.illinois.gov/hfs/MedicalProviders/notices/Pages/default.aspx. Register for both your specific provider category and 'All Medical Assistance Providers' category. Administrative staff responsible for policy updates must monitor the HFS website for notices instead of waiting for mail delivery.
