Summary
Illinois Cares Rx program is making significant changes to coordinating Medicare prescription drug plans effective January 1, 2010. Several plans are being discontinued and replaced with new coordinating plans, and all Medicare-eligible members will automatically receive the comprehensive ICRx Plus benefit with updated copayment structures.
Action Required
Before January 1, 2010: Billing team must update patient insurance information for Illinois Cares Rx members. Verify new coordinating plans: AARP Medicare Rx Saver replaces AARP Medicare Rx Preferred and United Health Rx Basic; Humana Value replaces Humana PDP Standard. Update copayment amounts in billing system: $2.50 generics, $6.30 preferred brands, $15 non-preferred/specialty for Medicare-eligible members.
