Summary
Illinois HFS is eliminating multiple payees from their provider database for institutional providers (hospitals, hospices, ASCs, dialysis facilities, DASA providers) due to HIPAA X12 Version 5010 requirements. All additional payees will be closed by May 1, 2011, with payments defaulting to the single remaining open payee.
Action Required
By May 1, 2011: Institutional providers with multiple payees must verify their Provider Information Sheet and update internal billing systems to reflect the single remaining payee. Contact Provider Participation Unit at 217-782-0538 with questions. Payment processing will default to the only open payee after 5010 implementation.
