Summary
Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services launched the Integrated Care Program (ICP) for Medicaid-only recipients in specific counties, replacing Illinois Health Connect. Long-term care facilities must work with Automated Health Systems for resident enrollment and will need to verify ICP coverage for medical services and the first 90 days of nursing facility stays.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must verify ICP enrollment status through Medical Electronic Data Interchange (MEDI) system for all Medicaid residents in Suburban Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kankakee, Lake, and Will counties. Check coverage with Aetna Better Health or IlliniCare Health Plan for medical services and first 90 days of nursing facility stays. Front desk staff must inquire about ICP coverage upon admission just as they check for any financial coverage.
