Summary

Beginning May 1, 2011, approximately 40,000 seniors and disabled adults transitioned from Medicaid fee-for-service to managed care through the Integrated Care Program (ICP) in specific Illinois counties. Pharmacy claims for ICP enrollees must now be submitted to Aetna Better Health or IlliniCare Health Plan instead of directly to HFS, with rejected claims showing error code G39.

Action Required

Action needed
Immediately: Billing team must identify ICP enrollees from DuPage, Kane, Kankakee, Lake, Will, and suburban Cook counties (excluding 606 ZIP codes) and redirect their pharmacy claims to appropriate managed care organizations (Aetna Better Health or IlliniCare Health Plan) instead of submitting to HFS. Update billing system to recognize ICP member cards and route claims accordingly. Claims submitted to HFS will be rejected with error code G39.
