Summary
Illinois All Kids (Medicaid) program implementing major benefit cuts and cost-sharing increases effective July 1, 2012, including income limit reductions, copayment increases, elimination of adult dental/chiropractic/podiatry coverage, and prescription limits requiring prior authorization for more than 4 medications per month.
Action Required
Effective July 1, 2012: Update billing systems to reflect new copayment amounts ($3.65 for doctor visits and brand name prescriptions, $2.00 for generic drugs). Stop billing for adult chiropractic care, dental care (except emergency extractions), and podiatry services (except for diabetics) as these are no longer covered. Implement prior authorization requirements for patients needing more than 4 prescriptions per month. Update patient eligibility verification processes as many adults will lose coverage due to income limit changes to 133% FPL.
