Summary
New co-payment amounts implemented for Medicaid, All Kids, and Illinois Healthy Women programs effective July 16, 2012. Providers must collect co-payments from patients, but the system will automatically deduct co-payment amounts from provider reimbursement.
Action Required
Immediately: Update billing workflows to collect co-payments from Medicaid, All Kids, and Illinois Healthy Women patients according to the new co-payment chart. Train front desk staff on exempt services (well-child visits, immunizations, preventive services, BCC program services, diagnostic services). Update patient collection procedures but continue billing usual and customary charges without reporting co-payments on claims. Note that providers cannot deny services due to inability to pay co-payments except for All Kids Premium Level 2.
