Summary
ICF/DD facilities can now bill therapeutic bed reserves for residents 21+ at 100% per diem for first 10 days per year and 75% thereafter, effective July 22, 2013. Training costs for developmental disability aides are no longer billed separately but included in increased per diem rates effective September 1, 2013.
Action Required
This policy is from 2013 and should already be implemented. ICF/DD billing teams should verify they are using type 20 bed reserve coding in MEDI system for therapeutic bed reserves (automatically converts to type 22 at 100% or type 24 at 75%) and confirm aide training costs are included in per diem rather than billed separately.
