Summary
The federal implementation of ICD-10 coding conversion originally scheduled for October 1, 2014 has been delayed by CMS. Long-term care facilities in Illinois must continue using ICD-9 codes for resident admission information and submit all data electronically through MEDI system or REV.
Action Required
Continue using ICD-9 codes for resident admission information until further notice. Ensure all transactions are submitted electronically using either the Department's Medicaid Electronic Data Interchange (MEDI) system or REV - paper transactions will no longer be accepted by DHS caseworkers.
