Summary
Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services is rolling out mandatory managed care enrollment for Medicaid and All Kids beneficiaries in five regions, moving 1.5 million people into care coordination entities. Providers must join managed care networks and understand different billing requirements based on the type of care coordination entity (MCO, MCCN, ACE, or CSN CCE) their patients are enrolled in.

Immediately: Check patient eligibility daily using REV System, AVRS, or MEDI to determine care coordination enrollment. Contact and join managed care networks in your region using provided contact information to ensure payment continuity. For MCO/MCCN enrollees, bill the managed care entity directly and follow their prior authorization procedures. For ACE/CSN CCE enrollees, continue billing the state as usual. Update billing workflows to handle different billing destinations based on patient's care coordination type.
